This forest is significant in providing wildlife habitat including songbirds, white tailed deer, and helping to maintain soil and water resources, as well as air quality. The habitat is diverse with deciduous and coniferous trees such as soft and hard maple (red, silver and sugar), white oak, red oak, and white ash.
