In celebration of Earth Day, and in partnership with the NPCA and Sassafrass Farms, we will be giving away 500 trees to Port Colborne residents at King George Park.
City staff will be collecting addresses from residents taking trees as part of a project to test the survival rates of the trees planted and assist with choosing tree species for the city in the future. Staff from Sassafrass Farms will also be hand to provide product and information about pollinator beds.

In honour of Earth Day, residents of Welland are asked to come together to take part in the “Community Parks Clean Up”.
Kits for the clean-up, including bags and gloves, will be available for pick up from April 15 to 19 at all library branches and Seaway Mall Customer Service on a first come basis, while supplies last.

Join NPCA staff at the City of Thorold's upcoming Earth Day event on Saturday, April 20!
So many fantastic activities planned and speakers will present topics related to Earth Day. Vendors will be in attendance marketing their environmentally-friendly products, services and/or educational materials.
Gauld Nurseries has donated 100 three foot saplings which will be given away to the first 100 Thorold residents. (Photo ID will be required).
Habitat for Humanity will be present and collecting e-waste.
Visitors are invited to bring their e-waste for recycling. Niagara Region will be present at the event selling various collection bins for attendees.
