Memorial Programs

Celebrate the life of a loved one or mark a special occasion such as birthdays and anniversaries by contributing to the Commemorative Tree Planting Program.

For a minimum donation of $100, you can support the planting of a native species of tree or shrub and provide a living memorial to remember a loved one or celebrate an important milestone.

Five commemorative forests have been established at the following conservation areas: Woodend Recognition Grove; Virgil Memorial Forest; Binbrook Conservation Area, Ball’s Falls Memorial Forest; and Cave Springs Carolinian Assemblage.

Memorial benches are also available at certain conservation areas for a minimum donation of $1,000 to cover the cost of materials and installation.

All memorial donations are fully eligible for income tax receipts.

Conservation Education Bursaries

In 1991, the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation, in conjunction with the Fort Erie Conservation Women’s Auxiliary, created a bursary program to assist students in Fort Erie and surrounding areas that planned to further their post-secondary education in a field related to conservation and natural resource management.  To date, more than $100,000 in bursaries has been awarded to qualified students.  Applications are accepted until the third week of May and can be obtained by contacting the Foundation office.’
