The Water Management Department is organized into 5 Divisions, each headed by a Coordinator.  Although staff from all divisions work cooperatively on Corporate priorities, each division is responsible for the outcomes of certain programs/projects.  The Divisions are as follows:

Watershed Regulation: primarily responsible for Administration of the Waterways, Valleylands and Wetlands Regulation (O.Reg. 155/06), maintenance of Flood Control Structures, Flow Monitoring, Floodplain Mapping and Capital Flood and Erosion Control projects.

Watershed Planning: primarily responsible for Plan Review under the Regional Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Watershed Plan Preparation and the Natural Areas Inventory Project.

Watershed Restoration: primarily responsible for implementing capital restoration projects identified in NPCA’s Watershed Plans as well as, Environmental Awareness Initiatives.  This division is also the primary contact for Remedial Action Plan (RAP) initiatives.

Source Water Protection: primarily responsible for implementing the Provincial source water protection initiatives as well as, the NPCA’s core water quality monitoring program and related special project initiatives.

Geographical Information Systems Services: primary responsibility is to provide information management support through advanced technical services such as, spatial analysis, digital mapping, geographic data creation, database management and custom application development.

In addition, 2009 will be the 10th year that NPCA has employed a Remedial Action Plan (RAP) Coordinator for the joint federal-provincial program aimed at improving Great Lakes Water Quality
